Our midweek spotlight is Rachael Geiger, Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN) student.

Rachael comes to the Illinois PSM program with a unique double major in Biology and English with a Religious Studies minor from Bradley University in Peoria. Rachael’s unique background led her into science communication, where she worked as a communications intern for the Long Lab at the Institute for Genomic Biology and as an editorial assistant for the Global Change Biology and GCB Bioenergy group during her first year of graduate study. This summer, Rachael is focusing more on the food industry by working for two different groups at Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) in Decatur. Her first project is with the beverage team where she works solely on research and development while her second project with the PTL snack bar team combines R & D and regulatory policy.
